SUPANOVA pop-culture expo is the only con I am able to attend right now. It is held once a year around australia. I woudln’t compare it t any good con in america(Emerald city, pittsburgh, san diego etc…) but it does give me some content to this site! I am planning on trying to get interviews, photos and swag from there. Plus I will blog and podcast about it on here. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Review!

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is the second book of the series Written by C.S. Lewis. While in a railway station, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy are transported to A fantasy land called narnia. While there and after they have their weapons and tools, they find price Caspian who summoned them with a blow of a horn while he was in trouble. His uncle who plays a big and interesting part in the film along with the talmarines laid siege to narnia not too long after the kids left last time. With the help of all the old narnia creatures and Caspian the kids try to take back narnia. Will they succeed?

The movie was a great move on from the first one. It was exciting seeing all those characters back on the big screen. On the characters side, the older 2 seemed like big main characters as the other two didn’t. The younger two characters felt as if they were side characters with 50 % importance of what the older 2 had. Other big and important characters like Azlan or the Ice Queen had small cameos too.

There were good and spectacular battle scenes in the film. Though the whole thing of trying to beat the bad guys took a long time. There are about 2 or 3 battles during the film. In the second battle the good guys use wonderful techniques and great skills to beat and take down the baddies. It was interesting how they did it in the end but it felt like it took too long after all.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is a good film for regular film viewers but if you have seen the first one you could get more out of it and even more if you have read the books as there are a lot of references to the first film. I saw the first narnia film which as ok. I have not read the books though so I would have a little more understanding of what is going on but not as much as someone who has read the books.

I feel this movie gets a 7/10. A good experience for anyone!

Pop-culture planet: Unofficial

Before pop-culture planet I had a pop culture show that I did sometimes. I am going to continue the show as a sister show to this podcast called Pop-culture planet: Unofficial. Basically, it is the sister podcast to pop-culture planet podcast. This is basically a chance to talk about anything pop-culture, when we want and have a more unprofessional show. So here’s a chance to blow off steam, talk pop-culture and have fun at the same time! Iron Man Review

Here is the IRON MAN review I have been planning to do. At the bottom is a video on the suit of IRON MAN and if the “flying with a suit” is possible.

IRON MAN – Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is the CEO of Stark Industries builds weapons for the U.S military. Tony is captured by terrorists and is forced to make missiles for them. Instead, tony makes a suit of armour to escape the terrorists. Back in america he makes a better suit of armour. He uses the suit, which can fly, to protect the world from evil as iron man.

The IRON MAN movie is, as everybody is saying, the best superhero movie out there. The action scenes are great. The effects are well done. Now, for the actual things he fights, I expected more gangs on the street or terrorists being stopped, like most superhero movies. There was less of that, but a sufficient amount of it and more actual main villain butt-kicking.

Robert Downey Jr. was an excellent actor in this film and, even though this is the first time I have seen him do something, I loved his acting. Pepper pots(Gwyneth Paltrow)was a great character because I saw someone who would care so much about their boss to do anything from get the dry cleaning to preforming open heart surgery. I loved that character. Obadiah Stane(Jeff Bridges) was a character who at first you think is good but when the time is right you see his bad side. I loved how jeff played that in a way that you do think his character is good and not think he is the villan.
This is my first iron man experience and it was also the best I think I will ever have. There is hints in there of a second movie with the villan planned out!
10/10: Definitely worth seeing!

Episode12!

Episode12 is live right now on talkshoe. It is about The IRON MAN, speed racer and a little mention of a new video game. Travis in Pittsburgh and I give our opinions of IRON MAN and Travis talks about SPEED RACER movie! I will, after I see the movie give my views on it after I see it but for now we have Travis helping with one. Also, for the review archive, I will soon do a written review of IRON MAN. Superhero Movie(My first Review)

I caught superhero movie and think I’ll take a whack at reviewing it.

Superhero Movie Review (spoiler alert!)

Superhero Movie is directed by Craig Mazen and mainly based around Rick Riker who also the Dragonfly is played by Drake Bell (From TV shows like Drake and Josh!). Rick is based on Peter Parker from marvel’s Spider-man. Rick is crazy and in love with Jill Johnson based on Mary-Jane (another character from Spider-man) who is the school’s hot and popular female girl! Along with the help of his friend Trey and his uncle Albert, he becomes the greatest superhero after getting bitten by a super dragonfly. Later on the hourglass is introduced who is also Lance Landers, a Local CEO of a big genetics company. The hour glass needs to suck the life out of a lot of people so he goes to where everybody goes. Can the dragonfly save everybody?

Superhero Movie is a funny and quirky movie and is basically a parody of many superhero movies including Spider-man, batman and a few others. The best superhero parody of the lot is the batman one. I have only seen half of batman begins but I think they did that one very well. Also, the x-men one where during the film while Xavier is trying to help Rick, his wife and bald kids all on wheelchairs too come on. They also had fun playing with parodies of famous people like Stephen hawking who got hurt a lot and the Dali lama who Rick mistook for the hourglass!

So like many superhero flicks you just know the hero and villain will fight in the end and it was done very well in the end and the way they ended the fight was great. You would also expect the main girl to get in trouble and the hero to rescue the main girl who is also his love (Jill Johnson). Also, the way that is done is wonderful.

The uncle is portrayed as a horny old man who is always telling Rick that being a superhero is about the women. He is done well but the jokes he gives only gets old. The aunt is portrayed as an old lady who is never tired and is sometimes takes note of her husband likeing the younger girls. I noticed the lady playing her did bits on Gilmore girls and she did a good job as the aunt here too. Lastly, the best friend who in the beginning uses a myriad of apple products and is a big computer geek in the beginning of the film but doesn’t have much personality for the rest of the film. Let’s just say that when he isn’t a computer nerd, he is giving Rick the idea that being a superhero is about the Fame/money.

Well Superhero movie is so funny you will miss jokes while you laugh. The different superhero flicks are portrayed greatly and there are some sad bits. There are some sexual reference and not much violence though. It is rated M so it isn’t for kids.

It gets a big 10 stars! (1 is lowest – 10 is highest)

We saw THIS coming!

Well, the current storyline of PvP(Player vs. Player) is where Brent and Jade’s marridge plans were canceled becaue of jade’s mother. Jade yells, screams and basicly tells the mother to butt-out! So brent offers to handle the wedding while Jade and Miranda handle the mother. That’s where cole, the boss, comes in. His solution is what everyone had been thinking will happen: Go to the millionare rich employee.

Now, the question is, will cole’s plan of going to robbie, the rich ex-employee, work?
